TIGANI CASTLE

TIGANI CASTLE THURSDAY 18TH OCTOBER 2012

This was another of our extra walks. Which saw 8 of us leave Stoupa for the journey down in to the deep Mani. The weather was excellent yet again with temperatures in the high 20's. After a coffee on the way at Aeropolis, we arrived at the start of the walk on the edge of the village of Stavri. The walk down on to the pan handle gave us some spectacular views up the rugged coastline and also an amazing view of Cape Grosso. Crossing the pan handle one of the ladies decorated a storage shed up with some drapes to give some shelter. Then it was on to Tigani castle and its panoramic views where we had a picnic lunch. On our return we once again we stopped at the recently decorated shed for a refreshment break. This is where we spotted a loggerhead turtle swimming in the bay just a few metres from the shore. A climb back to the cars and then a refreshing cold beer in the Stavri. Before our drive back to Stoupa.
