PROASTIO CIRCULAR

TUESDAY 9TH OCTOBER PROASTIO CIRCULAR WALK

Has things start to move in to autumn mood down here in the Mani, we saw 14 of us and JJ the dog, do a circular walk around the village of Proastio. We started in the centre of the village and came past the main church and square as we started our climb up and out of the village towards Exohorio. We stopped off at the twin churches at Aghios Theodhori to inspect what had been done with the EU grant to do the small church up. We then continued climbing following the track to the village of Exohorio. Just before the village we had a short break, before joining the road that goes back to Proastio. After a about 400 metres we turned off and took a track that would eventually lead us back to Proastio. A short rest was taken to see if we could find any walnuts but none had fallen yet. Then on to Proastio for lunch at Tsoyas a new kafenion in the village, where we had an excellent meze lunch.
