NEOHORI AND KASTANIA

TUESDAY 23RD OCTOBER 2012 NEOHORI AND KASTANIA

On an overcast but still warm day, saw 11 of us and two dogs set off from the village of Neohori. We left the village and the church and started our ascent on the kaldarimi to Kastania. Passing on the way up a recently restored chapel. After an hour we reached the road which then took us on to Kastania, turning before we reached the village and taking the Saidona road for a few hundred metres. Leaving the road and taking a track that goes to Proastio. Visiting one of the smallest churches in the area, we then took a path that would lead us into the Lagadia gorge. Passing through the gorge we then climbed up to Neohori for lunch just before the rain came down.
